Ringr FAQ


When Ringr calls get connected, you and the recipient can’t hear anything?

Please try restarting the application or try changing the network type from 2G to 3G and vice versa. Also try connecting with different Wi-Fi hotspot. Make sure that mobile data is enabled, please try turning it on and off and then try calling again. You can also try by clicking the settings button in the menu bar, then tap on the account button, tick your online status on and off. If the problem still exists please check your network connectivity.

Why am I seeing my status as offline?

Please try changing your online status by manually configuring from the settings available in the menu bar. If your account is still offline please try restarting the application or try changing the network type from 2G to 3G and vice versa. Also try connecting with different Wifi hotspot. If you are still having problems try turning the Airplane mode on and off. Make sure that data is enabled ( Android Settings > Wireless & networks > More .. > Mobile network). If the problem still exists please check your network connectivity .

While making a call with someone a slight discontinuity occurs in my voice transmission. How am I supposed to solve it?

This kind of variations in transmission occurs very rarely. Please try restarting your Ringr application and if the problem still persists try rebooting your WiFi- Router. Also make sure that data is enabled ( Android Settings > Wireless & networks > More .. > Mobile network). You could also try changing the network type from 2G to 3G and vice versa. If possible please check your network connectivity.



Why can't I hear anything when i answer my calls?

This probably occurs due to some problems regarding network connectivity.Please try restarting your Ringr application and if the problem still persists try rebooting your WiFi- Router. Also make sure that data is enabled ( Android Settings > Wireless & networks > More .. > Mobile network). You could also try changing the network type from 2G to 3G and vice versa. If possible please check your network connectivity .



How do I use Ringr Calling?

Ringr Calling lets you call your friends and family using Ringr for free, even if they’re in another country. Currently, Ringr Calling is available on Android. Ringr Calling uses your phone’s Internet connection rather than your cellular plan’s voice minutes. Data charges may apply.



Placing a Ringr call.

To make a Ringr call, simply open the contacts with the person you want to call and tap on the phone button.



Receiving a Ringr call.

When someone calls you, you will see an incoming Ringr call screen. You can tap and slide the green button to answer the call, or slide the red button to decline the call.

How to add an account with Ringr?

Step1:



Launch Ringr.





Step2:



Touch on the “start Ringr ”button.





Step3:



Select the country , type your mobile number and press the sign up button.





Step4:



Verify your mobile number that you have given and then Tap on the verify button.





Step5:



We will send you an OTP number and press continue.





Step6:



Type in your desired name and press continue again.




Now you have completed the registration process, enjoy calling.



How can I add my contacts from mobile to ringr?

Ringr automatically synchronizes your contacts from phone book and will be displayed in your Ringr contacts. So if you want to add new contacts to ringr, just add them first in your phone book of your mobile.



8. How can I change or add my profile pic?

Step1: From the Ringr home screen tap on the settings button available in the menu bar.

Step2: Tap on the profile icon.

Step3: Tap the profile pic icon and upload your desired pic from gallery or take a new one using your mobile camera.



10. How to invite friends to Ringr?

Step1:



From the Ringr home screen tap on the invite button available in the menu bar.



Step2:



Tap the social share button displayed on your mobile screen and select the way you want to invite your friends by selecting one of the option available. Then tap the friend’s name you want to invite and select the send button.




Make sure that your friend installs Ringr into his/her phone from the link mentioned in your referral message.




11.How to change my Ringr name?

Step1: From the Ringr home screen tap on the settings button available in the menu bar.

Step2: Tap on the profile icon.

Step3: press on the edit button , then type your desired profile name and then press Save.



12.What is signal strength and how can I see it?

Once the ringr call gets established you will see any one of the 4 network statuses which indicates the signal strength of your VoIP call

Excellent : implies strong connectivity.

Good : implies good connectivity.

Average : implies average connectivity.

weak : implies weak connectivity.



13.I cannot connect to Ringr

Usually, this is caused by a problem with your internet connection or the settings on your phone.

Please try these steps to fix your connection:

(i) Reboot your phone (power off, power on).

(ii) Turn Wi-Fi off and back on (Android Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi).

(iv) Try connecting to different Wi-Fi hotspots.

(v) Turn Airplane mode on and off.

(vi) Make sure that data is enabled (Android Settings > Wireless & networks > More... > Mobile networks).

(vii) Contact your mobile provider and make sure your APN settings are configured correctly.

(viii) Reboot your Wi-Fi Router.



14. What kind of internet connectivity do we need to use ringr VoIP?

Ringr calls works on 2g, 3g ,4g and WiFi. Better the connection , better the call clarity.



15. What is the public room system?

This is a new system we introduced in Ringr to help u get connected to the whole world just by talking to anyone you like. You will be able to see all the users who have joined with this system. This way, you can choose the person you what to talk to with just one touch.



16.How to join the public room?

Step1:



Launch Ringr.





Step2:



From the home screen touch the public room icon.





Step3:



A page showing a list of users will be displayed. To join the public room, tap on the join button





Step4:



In the next page, type your area of interest and agree to the terms and conditions of the ringr application by ticking the box shown in the page. Then tap on the join public room button to complete the process.





Now you are free to call all the users in the room. Keep ringing and keep talking.



17. How to unjoin from the public room?

If you want to remove yourself from the public room just tap on the unjoin button shown on the right corner of the Public room.





18. Can we set the Ringr application from online to offline and vice versa manually ?

Yes, you can manually set the status by going to the home screen of the application and select settings from the menu bar. From there you can see whether your account is online or offline. To manually change your account status tap on the Account button, from there u can change your account status.



19. Can I record Ringr to Ringr calls?

Right now there is no feature to record Ringr calls. But you could record using 3rd party application.



20. Can I install ringr application simultaneously in two mobile phones using the same mobile number?

Ringr gives service to only one mobile number at a time. You should clear the ringr applications data from your previous phone and then try installing the ringr application in your new phone. We are not able to provide ringr application for two different mobiles having the same mobile number.



21. When I travel abroad, will I be charged for data roaming?

Ringr uses the same internet data plan as web browsing and email on your phone. If using your cellular data while roaming will normally result in additional charges, you may be charged extra by your mobile provider for using Ringr while roaming. Contact your wireless carrier for details about international roaming countries, SIMs, rates, and policies. If you do not have an international data plan, turn off Data roaming to avoid data roaming charges.



22. When I try to make a call why does the recipient caller’s status goes offline?

If that happen please clear the data and try reinstalling the application from the mobile that is having a status issues.



23. How to join the Ringr Business Room?

Step1:



Download and install Ringr android application from Google play store.







Step2:



Click the business room icon.







Step3:



Click the “Post Your Ad” option from the menu bar to add your business profile.







Step4:



Fill in your business details and click the Next button shown.







Step5:



After submitting your business profile details, select your preferred plan from the 2 existing plans available.







Step6:



Now you have completed the Ringr business Room Profile.
